Message: Hey Chuck. That'd be for the "Honor Flight!" Great opportunity for the Veterans to visit the Monuments(Service,) in D.C. It's wonderful to see these guys and gals as they get ready to travel. It's a one day/all day tour. Chartered A/C. We've had two from Lexington in the past couple of years. The send off and welcoming home crowd is always amazing. I would encourage support, even if ya only go down and wave at them, 'specially the Vietnam Vets. They also recruit Volunteers (Escorts,) to accompany the Veterans. All in all, a wonderful opportunity to honor our fellow Veterans. Jim RLTW/L&P

Today Andy Howard was honored for a lifetime of selfless service at his funeral. Everyone who spoke acknowledged his achievements as a magnificent Soldier, and his more than 10 years at CFM, as well as postings in Germany, Alaska, and Vietnam. It was an honor for retired Rangers Boggs, Connell, Ramsey, Kelly, and maybe others I did not see who were present to salute Andy. Three very distinguished NCOs from CFM represented modern day Rangers and MSG Jason Wistoski was flawless in his presentation of the flag to Andy's daughter Wanda. Tomorrow Andy will be interned with full military honors at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton at 1400L. If you have memories, recollections or stories about this great Ranger please post them so that we may all enjoy his memory together. His Daughter has asked me to save any postings or personal e-mails regarding Andy as a keepsake for the family. If you prefer not to post on this site please e-mail me at with a personal message that I might share with the Family. God Bless 1SG (RET)Andy Howard....
